TNI PATRIOT NKRI

Happy 78th Anniversary of the Indonesian National Army (TNI).

The 78th anniversary of the TNI is celebrated every October 5.

In 2023, the TNI anniversary will have the theme "TNI PATRIOT NKRI".

Through the commemoration of the 78th Anniversary, it is hoped that the TNI can continue to uphold the sovereignty of the country, defend the territorial integrity of the Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and protect the entire nation and all of Indonesia's bloodshed from threats and disturbances to the integrity of the nation and state.

At its inception, the Indonesian state did not have an army at all.

The People's Security Agency which was formed at the PPKI session on 22 August 1945 and announced by President Soekarno on 23 August 1945 was not an army as an official military organization.
The BKR, both at the center and in the regions, is under the authority of the Central Indonesian National Committee (KNIP) and the Regional KNI and is not under the orders of the president as supreme commander of the armed forces.

BKR is also not under the coordination of the Minister of Defense.

The BKR was only prepared to maintain local security so as not to give the impression that Indonesia was preparing to start war against the Allies.

Finally, through Government Information dated October 5, 1945, BKR was transformed into the People's Peace Army (TKR).

On January 7, 1946, the People's Security Army changed its name to the People's Security Army.

Then on January 26, 1946, it was changed again to the Army of the Republic of Indonesia (TRI).
Since 1959, October 5 has been designated as War Forces Day or Armed Forces Day, which is currently referred to as Indonesian National Armed Forces Day, which is a national day that is not a holiday established by the Indonesian government through Presidential Decree No. 316 of 1959 dated 16 December 1959 to commemorate the birth of the Indonesian armed forces.

Because at that time in Indonesia there were other armed groups, alongside the Army of the Republic of Indonesia, on 15 May 1947, President Soekarno issued a decision to unite the Army of the Republic of Indonesia with these armed ranks to become the Indonesian National Army (TNI).

The unification occurred and was formalized on June 3, 1947.

Once again, Happy 78th TNI Birthday.
Happy Indonesian National Army.

Terus Melaju Untuk Indonesia Maju.
